My Rainbow Baby Is 2!

How time has flown! I can't believe that my baby girl is already 2 years old! She has gone <====from this tiny, helpless, little girl, to this====> independent big girl. I remember well, the moment we found out we were pregnant and the worry, excitment and anticipation of her birth. It was a long road to get to have her here with us and she brought a lot of healing to our home and hearts. Some of you may be wondering about the title of this post and wanting to know what a rainbow baby is. It is a term used to describe a baby born after a miscarriage, stillbirth or infant loss. Here is the best description I can find explaining why we use that term, ""Rainbow Babies" is the understanding that the beauty of a rainbow does not negate the ravages of the storm. When a rainbow appears, it doesn't mean the storm never happened or that the family is not still dealing with its aftermath. What it means is that something beautiful and full of light has appeared in the midst of the darkness and clouds. Storm clouds may still hover but the rainbow provides a counterbalance of color, energy and hope." That is my Kai Kai, my  sweet rainbow baby! I am so gratefu that we were blessed to have her in our family. She is definitely spoiled by all her siblings....and maye even mom and dad, but she also loving, kind and quick to hug, kiss and say "I love you". I simply can't imagine my life without her.

For her birthday party we had my family and our friends the Russells over to have dinner and then some cake. Dinner was excellent (of course, since I made it!) And the cake...well, that was an interesting story. See, Kailyn has this new obsession with Pinkalicious so I made her a Pinkalicious birthday cake. It looked awesome!!! Until it fell over an hour later, before we could serve it...Oh well!! Still tasted yummy and Kailyn didn't care. And it looked great while it lasted!
