A Decade...

10 Years...
120 Months...
520 Weeks...
3652 Days...

No matter how you calculate it, it's been a loooong time since I held my first baby, a "little" boy, in my arms. Born on December 12, 2000, Weighing in at 9lbs even and measuring 20 1/2 inches he was quitte a bundle. He was the first grandchild on both sides and the only one who was lucky enough to get to meet my dad before he died. He was born on his due date, but hasn't been on time since.

He hit all his milestones early and by 9 months old was starting to walk. He was our little daredevil. On his first birthday he got a rocking horse. He climbed right on....proceeded to stand up on the seat  and rock on the horse as hard as he could! He is our mischevious, goofy boy who loves to try and get a laugh out of you.

He's a handsome guy with hair that's as wild as he is!

It's been 10 years of super hero, tough boy and ninja.

As well as running, jumping, climbing, and riding

With 8 years of loving,

Sterling and Emmy
cuddling and sharing,

Sterling and Cori
snuggling and holding,
Sterling and Eddie

smiling and laughing,

 hugging and kissing,
Sterling and Joe
All his many little brothers and sisters!

Sterling is such an amazing, wonderful boy and he's growing way too fast. In just a couple years he'll hold the priesthood. A few more after that is dating, then a mission, marriage and children!!

But for now, I'm gonna hold my little boy tight, and enjoy the kisses and hugs while they are so frequently and freely given. I am so proud of his many accomplishments and am grateful that we were chosen to be the parents of this amazing child of God.
Happy Birthday Sweet Boy!!

It's Great to be 8!

I can't believe that my princess is 8 years old already! Her birthday party was on Friday, December 3 and she had two friends come over to stay the night. As far as parties goes, it was pretty low key this year. Emmy opted to do a slumber party instead of having a "themed" party. We had pizza for dinner and then we opened presents. She got all kinds of art supplies from her friends and a Didj from mom and dad. She LOVED everything! The girls then decorated and ate cupcakes. After that they decorated pillow cases to take home with them. We rented "Ramona and Beezus" from Amazon Video on Demand and made popcorn. The girls stayed up late, watching the movie and playing. They all had fun, but the next morning came early since it was a BIG day for Emmy. It was her baptism day!

Emmy was baptized on December 4, 2010. Eight years ago she was a tiny bundle with little fingers and toes who needed me for everything. Our little princess has grown so fast and is now so independent. I miss snuggling her and holding her, but I love watching as she learns and grows each day. She is incredibly smart and talented. I don't thinks there's anything that she can't do and do extremely well. She's an excellent artist and excels in math. She loves to read and write and can be found late at night (WAY past bedtime!) sitting in her closet reading a book. And no book is ever too hard for her. I am so grateful that the Lord choose us to be parents to this special little girl. What an incredible blessing she is to our family!
